Presumably in an effort to preclude lawsuits, Schutt Sports adds their own line in all caps beneath the warning that is suggested for football helmets by the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment…

The issue of football safety (and helmets in particular) is a big enough deal nowadays that not only is the above verbiage printed on the helmet in small print, but you actually have to click that you’ve read it in order to access Schutt’s website

    No, they are saying in order to avoid any head or neck injuries, you have to avoid football. If you do not wish to avoid football, agree to the risks by clicking the checkbox below and buy a helmet for at least some protection.This is an almost exact parallel sex education for what its worth (except we don’t have handy little checkboxes).
